Wow! KIDS FOR KIDS does it AGAIN! As we all know, 2020 has been a crazy year with lots of changes for everyone. We decided for our 11th annual Summer Event to think outside the box and create a new type of virtual Summer Event.
We were a little nervous and didn’t know what to expect. But we put it all in God’s capable hands and watched as our amazing donors showed up for Abana and their friends in Rwanda. It’s fun for us to announce that because of YOUR generosity and lots of creativity by the Abana Ambassadors, WE HAVE REACHED OUR $40,000 ANNUAL SUMMER EVENT GOAL!
This is an amazing confirmation that we have AWESOME donors and an AWESOME God!
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR ABANA?
It really means great things! The $40,000 raised at the Abana Summer Event will be used to continue to partner with our friends in Kibeho. Your donations will fully fund the school lunch feeding program for nearly 1,000 students at Nyarushishi Primary School and The Blind Children’s School in Kibeho for another year. This program not only offers nutrition and vitamins but also allows the students to better focus on their studies.
The Children’s Academy will be equipped to offer intense learning opportunities outside of school hours for students which will better prepare them for their national exams. The staff and students are so committed to learning and it really shows in their test scores.
We are also so grateful that through your generosity, we will be able to continue to grow our Abana Scholarship Program which offers HOPE for a great future for the students. Each year we have more and more students who are qualifying to receive an Abana Scholarship. And Praise God that we have been able to fulfill those scholarships!
